I have produced or co-produced my albums and songs that reached the MusicRow, Billboard, and European charts. My album DUST BOWL: AMERICAN STORIES was on Billboard's Americana/Folk album sales chart for 17 weeks, reaching the top 10 for 11 weeks. I have headlined at Carnegie Hall twice since 2018, as well as hundreds of other venues and dozens of music festivals around the USA and Europe. I have two GRAMMY certificates for my work as a producer on a GRAMMY-winning song and album. I have played acoustic and electric guitar, bass, piano, and organ in various genres on other people's recordings for many years. I enjoy helping songwriters bring their songs to life with good recordings, from simple demos to fully produced albums or tracks.
I love to communicate with my clients and find out as much as possible before recording. I provide top quality uncompressed WAV stereo tracks at 24-bit/48 kS (other formats available upon request).
I own and operate a studio in Rhode Island. It is based on a UAD Apollo interface with SSL boards and controllers, running Luna Pro on a Mac Studio computer. I use great mics from AKG, Neumann, Shure, and more. I do principle recording and mixing of my albums here, as well as the songs and albums that I produce for other songwriters and artists.
Q: Are there any collaborations or dream projects you hope would happen?
A: To sing with Alison Kraus is a dream like that. It would be amazing.
Q: Are there any genres or styles of music you would like to explore in the future?
A: I dabbled with Jazz in a Christmas album that I made a few years ago. I would love to go deeper into Jazz.
Q: Are there any specific projects you have been a part of that you are most proud of?
A: I had the chance to work with legendary Folk singer/songwriter Janis Ian on my MISSISSIPPI album in 2024. Working in the studio with her was really special, and the recording that resulted is amazing.
Q: Can you describe your favorite project to date?
A: My 2024 album MISSISSIPPI: AMERICAN STORIES is my favorite album. Because it's about the river, I recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis, recording a song about Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated just blocks away back in the 1960s. Then I went down to New Orleans and recorded there. I also recorded great players in Nashville, Janis Ian in Florida, and at my own studio in Rhode Island. It was a huge undertaking also because of the large coffee table book that I wrote to accompany the album.
